My intake process is rather open as clients talk about what they feel and need in their life and what is problematic for them. I let the history emerge as they wish. Sometimes, I give a beginning assessment to gauge what they think of what I have said in order to see if anything essential comes up. Progress is in their returning to therapy and feeling greater ease in themselves as they become more conscious of underlying conflicts. Homework involves what they feel they need, whether that’s a new experience, leaving their comfort zone, using their imagination to create a new personality, or anything else they could come up with. I enjoy working with a wide range of people with an incredible variety of problems, including those who suffer from depressive disorders, victims of incest, and those with transgender struggles. My experience has helped to enlighten my life and given me a very deep sense of satisfaction and I hope therapy does the same for my clients.
