Barbara Jones

I received my master’s degree in Counseling and Art Therapy from Ursuline College and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in the State of Ohio. I have had training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Art Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and elements of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I have experience working with adults and group counseling, but my passion is helping children and adolescents using individual therapy. I have experience providing services in inpatient, outpatient, schools, and community settings.

I recognize that everyone is different and I strive to tailor my delivery methods to meet each client where they are at. I use an eclectic and strength-based approach depending on each individual’s needs. I want to make every client I work with feel safe and comfortable and be able to feel like they can be open about anything. I enjoy being creative in my work and incorporate the use of art and play therapy to help children and teens.

In our first session, my goal is to take the time to get to know each client and allow them to share about themselves and get to know me. I want each client to leave feeling as though their stress has been relieved in a small way, knowing they found a counselor they feel at ease with.
