Great to meet you!

Welcome! My name is Beena. I am dually licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy. With over 19 years of clinical experience, I have gained knowledge from working with adults and adolescents dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, grief & loss, and life transitions.

A bit about my approach to therapy

With my training in Marriage and Family Therapy, I use a systemic lens to explore with individuals how the systems which they are a part of, influence their behavioral patterns and belief systems. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). It is a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. Together we develop skills and attitudes needed for positive future actions.

What you can expect from our first session

Therapy is a sacred space and who you choose to allow in that space with you is the most important part of your counseling experience. My goal is to provide you with a safe space to process through life’s challenges. In the first sessions I'll gather history of past disturbing memories, related events and current situations that cause distress.
