Great to meet you!

Hello, and welcome. My name is Belen Cantu, and I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) dedicated to supporting individuals as they navigate life’s challenges and pursue personal growth.

I earned my degree, Master’s of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Texas A& M International University and have completed advanced training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral My professional background includes 13 years of experience working with various populations to include: domestic violence survivors , trauma survivors and individuals experiencing grief.

I specialize in working with clients who are experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties and stress management. My approach is collaborative and client-centered, meaning we will work together to identify your goals and tailor treatment to fit your unique needs.

I believe therapy provides a safe and supportive space to process challenges, build resilience, and discover new possibilities. My goal is to empower you with tools and insights that foster healing, self-awareness, and lasting change.

If you’re considering starting therapy, I’d would like to help you be successful in your journey.

My approach to therapy

I work with clients in a collaborative, supportive, and nonjudgmental way. My approach is warm and conversational, with the goal of creating a safe space where you feel heard and understood. I believe therapy is most effective when it is tailored to each individual, so I adapt my methods to meet your unique needs and goals.

I draw from evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and solution-focused strategies, while also incorporating relational and strengths-based perspectives. Together, we’ll identify patterns, explore challenges, and develop practical tools to help you navigate life more confidently.

My areas of focus include anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship issues, life transitions and self-esteem. Whether you are seeking relief from overwhelming emotions, support through a difficult time, or personal growth, I aim to guide you toward greater clarity, balance, and resilience.

What you can expect from me

I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental, and collaborative environment where clients feel safe to explore their experiences, challenges, and strengths. My approach emphasizes building trust and fostering open communication, so that together we can work toward meaningful change.

The goals I typically set with clients focus on increasing self-awareness, developing healthier coping strategies, improving communication and relationship skills, and building resilience. Depending on each person’s needs, outcomes may include reducing symptoms of stress, anxiety, or depression; fostering stronger boundaries; or gaining a clearer sense of direction and purpose.

I encourage clients to take an active role in their own healing process, and I support them in setting realistic, achievable goals that align with their values. My intention is always to create an environment where growth feels possible, where challenges are met with compassion, and where clients leave sessions feeling heard, validated, and empowered.
