Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Ben. I believe that all individuals have the ability to learn, to grow, and to redirect themselves toward improving their lives. I’ve seen and understand how difficult that can be though. With that, I use counseling as a resource to help people explore their goals, understand the challenges they are facing, and identify steps for moving forward. If you feel like you've been struggling to figure it out on your own but are ready to take the next steps, I'm here to help.

My approach to therapy

As a counselor, I believe my role is to support and guide my clients as they work toward their goals. To do that, I work to create a safe, supportive, and therapeutic relationship where my clients feel safe and comfortable exploring their experiences and learning new skills to help overcome the challenges they've been facing.

With over 15 years of direct experience and training, I bring a wide array of tools and an eclectic approach that allows me to customize therapy to meet the needs of each individual I work with. Primarily though, my approach is based in REBT (Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy) which integrates cognitive and behavioral tools to help better align our thoughts and actions with our values.

What you can expect from me

Our first session will focus on gaining an understanding of your background, what brings you to counseling, and what you hope to see change. It will also be an opportunity for me to get to know you better, and for you to get to know me.

I like to provide information on the approach I use in the first session too. So it is pretty typical for me to provide a few handouts on tools I use in therapy. It's not homework! But I like to be sure my clients have resources and tools they can use between sessions if they want them.
