Hi! I'm so excited to be entering a new phase of my career here at Headway. After doing my medical and psychiatry training at NYU I then had the honor of serving our Veteran population at the Brooklyn VA Hospital for over 3 decades. That background taught me so much about working with those with trauma, depression, anxiety, substance use, and psychotic disorders.
I like to approach work with patients with an open mind. After I have a sense of what the core issues are I like to present realistic and pracitical options that can be approached collaboratively.
The first session serves two purposes - to get to know you as a person and then to figure out solutions to whatever unhappniess has brought us together. An if appropriate there may be a joke or two involved. And sometimes those jokes are actually funny!
