Great to meet you!

My name is Berenice Barrientos, and I am a Certified School Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling and have over four years of experience working with adolescents, as well as experience supporting adult clients. I am passionate about helping teens and adults navigate life’s challenges and recognize their inner strength.

My approach to therapy

Life can feel overwhelming at times, especially when facing challenges that seem hard to understand or overcome. I’m here to support you in navigating those moments, helping you build confidence and discover new ways to cope and grow. Together, we’ll work to turn life’s struggles into opportunities for growth, helping you better understand yourself and move forward with strength and purpose.

My approach to therapy is collaborative and tailored to your unique needs. I draw from evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy to help you identify unhelpful thought patterns, build practical coping skills, and focus on meaningful, achievable change.

What you can expect from me

The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and talk about what brings you to therapy. We’ll explore your goals, current concerns, and what you hope to get out of the process. Therapy moves at your pace, and we will work together to create a safe, supportive, and collaborative space where meaningful and achievable goals can be developed over time.
