Great to meet you!

Welcome, I am Dr. B!

I believe that therapy can be one of the most powerful forms of advocacy — a space where healing, growth, and liberation are possible. As a queer person of color, I bring lived experience, deep compassion, and a commitment to social justice into every session.

I specialize in working with 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals, relationships (Ikink/poly knowledgeable/ affirming), and communities, with a strong focus on trans and nonbinary clients. Whether you're exploring your identity, navigating trauma, healing from relationship struggles, or managing complex mental health challenges, I offer a safe, affirming, and empowering space.

Some of the areas that I support clients with include:

  • Gender identity and transition-related care
  • Queer and trans mental health
  • Trauma and complex PTSD
  • Disordered eating and body image
  • Relationship concerns (including polyamory & non-monogamy)
  • Borderline personality disorder
  • Identity exploration and self-worth
  • Navigating systems of oppression

I hold a Doctorate in Clinical Forensic Psychology and have years of experience in grassroots mental health, private practice, and university counseling settings. I have also provided court-mandated treatment and have specialized training in gender-affirming care.

Outside of therapy, I am a passionate community organizer and the co-founder of a nonprofit supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ communities of color. I also enjoy art, music, concerts, writing, traveling and quality time with my pets, family, & my partner.

Above all, I am here to support you — to listen, to hold space, and to walk alongside you in your healing journey.

My approach to therapy

I use an integrative approach rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), feminist therapy, and narrative therapy. My work is grounded in cultural humility and client-centered care — meaning you are the expert of your own life, and therapy is a collaborative process.

What you can expect from me

Your first session with me is all about building connection and creating a space where you can feel seen, heard, and supported — exactly as you are.

I will start by going over important information about confidentiality, boundaries, and what therapy looks like with me.

From there, you'll have time to share what brings you in, at your own pace. You won’t be pressured to dive into anything before you're ready — this session is about getting to know each other, exploring your goals, and beginning to lay the foundation for your work together.

I approach therapy with warmth, curiosity, and cultural humility. I welcome all of who you are — your identities, your experiences, your questions, and your hopes.

Whether you're new to therapy or returning after some time away, I am here to meet you with compassion and support as you begin your healing journey. I strive to create a safe, affirming, and inclusive environment for all I have the privilege of working with. On-going session will center your goals and needs.
