Great to meet you!

Welcome, I’m Bernadette Noel Sisk, MSN, RN, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and supportive therapy. I earned my Nurse Practitioner degree from the University of Akron and have experience working in both community mental health and with the Department of Veterans Affairs. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, psychotic disorders, sleep disturbances, substance disorder and cognitive concerns such as dementia. My approach is collaborative, respectful, and individualized, with a focus on helping clients feel heard while developing a treatment plan that supports lasting stability and improved quality of life.

My approach to therapy

I believe mental health care should feel safe, respectful, and collaborative. I take time to truly listen, understand your concerns, and work with you to create a treatment plan that fits your goals and your life. My focus includes anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, psychotic disorders, sleep concerns, substance use, and memory-related conditions, using thoughtful medication management and supportive therapy. My style is warm, practical, and straightforward—I want you to feel comfortable asking questions and confident in your care. For example, I personally find music—especially Grunge—to be a powerful emotional outlet, and I value humor as a way to lighten your stress response. Together, we’ll explore what feels cathartic and restorative for you, and I’ll encourage you to develop your own meaningful self-care practices that support healing and resilience.

What you can expect from me

It’s completely normal to feel nervous before a first appointment—and I want you to know that I approach that first meeting with care and intention as well. After we get settled, we’ll start by talking about what brought you in and what feels most important for us to focus on. I will ask about your personal background, mental health history, and medical history so I can understand the full picture of who you are, not just your symptoms.

My goal is to create a safe, respectful, and collaborative space where you feel heard and comfortable speaking openly. By the end of the session, we will identify clear goals and develop a tailored treatment plan that we build together, so you leave with direction, understanding, and a sense of partnership in your care.
