Great to meet you!

I currently work with adults and seniors of all ages facing issues of depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, as well as difficult personal relationships. And as an older adult myself, I share the experiences of aging, loss, major life transitions, and end-of-life concerns. The most important foundation for a successful therapy is the trusting relationship between counselor and client, so I strive to create a safe and supportive environment for all my clients. If you come to me, you will have my full commitment to your well-being, to helping you overcome the “stuck places” in your life and reach your goals. Please feel comfortable reaching out to me.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is guided by the needs of the client. I help clients look at the causes in their lives - such as trauma, childhood disadvantages, family dysfunction, personal disappointments - which lead to negative thoughts, behaviors, and emotional states, in order to recover from them and move forward positively in their lives. My primary approach is cognitive behavioral therapy, but I also make use of techniques and insights from psychoanalysis, family systems, and narrative therapy.

What you can expect from me

Clients tell me that the feeling of our sessions are warm, friendly, and even "pastoral" (before my training as a clinical therapist, I served for twenty years as a community rabbi and chaplain); that they discover new insights into old problems; and they learn techniques to improve their emotional well-being.
