Great to meet you!

Hello! My name is Bernave Vega. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas and a doctoral candidate. I run my private practice VEGA Center for Mental Health. Here I am trained in seeing children (8+) and parents who have experienced a traumatic life event using TF-CBT. I also have done extensive research on men's issues and relationship counseling. I'm a queer-Mexican American therapist and offer LGBTQIA+ affirming care as well. If you have issues with identity, relationships, or are struggling with emotions, behaviors, or feeling safe again, please reach out! Only Virtual

My approach to therapy

I view therapy as a collaborative process rather than a one-size-fits-all experience. My work integrates trauma-informed care with CBT, DBT, TF-CBT principles, and insight-oriented approaches to help clients better understand patterns, strengthen coping skills, and develop healthier ways of responding to life's challenges. I focus on creating a supportive relationship while helping clients build practical tools they can use outside of session.

What you can expect from me

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. I will ask questions about your current concerns, personal history, relationships, strengths, and goals for therapy while giving you space to share at your own pace. You do not need to know exactly what to say or have everything organized. By the end of the session, clients can expect to leave with a clearer understanding of the process and possible directions for treatment.
