Great to meet you!

Great to meet you. My name is Beth , I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I have worked with various populations and have a diverse background including people with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, chronic medical conditions, Substance Use, Bipolar Disorder, ADHD, and relationship problems.

I very much like to utilize an educational, interactive, positive and holistic approach to therapy. I think it is important to find balance and harmony in your life and it starts with improving self-reflection, self-esteem and proactive self-care. I take a person centered approach, allowing you to take charge of your goals for health.

Therapeutic Rapport building is what we will establish and I want to hear your story and really get to know you.

I received my education and trainings through SUNY Stony Brook, Pratt Institute and the CHA in affiliation with Harvard Medical School Department of Psychiatry. I also have additional trainings through SUNY Albany and John Hopkins University School of Public Health. I provide office services and TeleHealth. I do not prescribe medication‘s. I use a variety of evidence based practices and treatment methods and modalities, and a full psychological history is captured and analyzed. At times I also utilize psychological testing and collateral contacts for further exploration and understanding to best treat your symptoms and needs.

My approach to therapy

I approach therapy with a nonjudgmental and open thought process towards each client I meet.

I have a variety of specializations and experiences throughout my 18 years of practice. Areas Include:

Communication Skill Building, Depression, Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Sleep, Substance Use, ADHD, compulsions/Impulsivity, Relationships, Attachments, Enmeshed Families, Dependency, Major Life Transitions, Self-Esteem, physical health and disease/comorbidities, Personality Disorders, Mania, Bipolar Disorders, & Forensic Pathology.

I connect body, mind and spirit in the therapeutic process and also look at physical ailments and environment and how they may impact mental health and wellness.

I also evaluate emotional support animals as a part of treatment for clients and provide emotional support pet therapy letters, if this may be a part of your treatment plan specifically.

I can be casual in my approach but also serious. What we will develop what is called a therapeutic relationship. As a professional licensed mental health clinician for over 18 years I have a wide variety of experience that helps me understand a good balance with each one of my clients I treat.

What you can expect from me

My clients can expect to enter into the therapeutic process safely. I accept clients with a nonjudgmental approach and mentality. I create a comfortable and open environment.I conduct in-person office sessions and/or Telehealth via video or phone.

I initially conduct a psychosocial assessment. I may conduct some depression/anxiety, trauma, attachment, or other symptom screenings. Together we formulate goals and next steps in treatment. I provide recommendations and can discuss a comprehensive treatment plan and other considerations. I am very personable and enjoy getting to know each person I treat.

I treat individuals and couples. I use a variety of treatment methods, modalities and evidence based approaches.

I am 100% transparent. I expect transparency as the therapeutic relationship grows from each client I treat.

There is no cure for mental health. Mental health is a journey of understanding, acceptance, self-care, personal mastery and maintenance.

As human beings, we all struggle and suffer from time to time. There’s nothing wrong with seeking help. It’s attending to your own personal medical care in doing so. What you may get out of therapy is what you put into it. I am here to help you through your journey and guide you with the choices, expressions, and actions you take. I will provide guidance and feedback, psychoeducation, and implement practices in which are best known to be effective for your symptoms and mental health diagnostics. I may challenge you in your thoughts. I may validate your feelings. But ultimately at the end of the day, your treatment outcome is in your hands. And we all deserve to care for ourselves.
