Great to meet you!

I currently have availability on Mondays at 7pm.

I’m very aware that even looking at my bio is a big step, one you may have been psyching yourself up for (or out of) for a while. Therapy is vulnerable, and hard for some, and I know that reaching out isn’t always easy.

I aim for kind no-nonsense in all my sessions, and utilize mainly cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) alongside other modalities. I have a Masters in Clinical Counseling Psychology, focusing in CBT and child-family interventions, and a background of working with trauma, OCD, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and life transitions in adults.

My approach to therapy

I’m a warm and empathetic therapist who believes that humour has its place in session, but I will also (kindly) challenge you to address things you’ve told me you want to work on. I’m not here to heal you - I’m here to give you the tools and support you need so you can move through life with more ease, however that looks for you.

I’m a big fan of collaborative goals - I may have some ideas on things we can work on to help you get to where you want to go, but I also firmly believe that you drive treatment. I’m incredibly aware that this is your health, time, and often money, so I am extremely open to feedback and I will regularly check in with you to see if we need to make changes.

I also really like to hear about your pets - photos are a bonus! I’m here to help, and part of my philosophy is treating you - not your diagnosis - and that includes knowing things that matter to you to help break up some of the hard work we’ll do. I know this can be tough, and we’ll always work at your pace to address what’s brought you in.

What you can expect from me

A first session is typically information gathering - for both of us! I’ll ask a few standard questions to get an idea on what’s bringing you in to therapy, alongside your history, and you are welcome to ask questions about my process so you can see if I’m a good fit for you. I understand that therapy can be daunting, so it’s important that you find someone who you feel is comfortable and competent. If that’s not me, then that’s ok! On a similar note, if I feel that I am not a good fit, I will work to help you find someone who is.
