Great to meet you!

I am a licensed clinical therapist with more than 20 years experience working with clients with a broad range of concerns. I completed my initial training at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, where I trained in psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral and experiential therapies. I also have years of training and experience in the use of mind-body techniques that, when combined with talk therapy, are highly effective in reducing symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma and pain syndromes.

A bit about my approach to therapy

As your therapist, I will be compassionate, truthful and non-judgmental with you. I will guide you through the therapeutic process, as we work to understand your experiences. I will offer observations and suggestions to increase insight and awareness. We will use practices and techniques based on your specific needs and preferences. Throughout the process, I will invite your feedback so that we can ensure that our work together feels productive and uniquely suited to you and your goals.

What you can expect from our first session

Psychodynamic therapy can be a highly effective way to relieve symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression and the aftereffects of trauma and loss. It can help you increase your understanding of yourself; change behaviors that might be interfering with your goals; improve your personal and professional relationships; and increase your overall sense of well-being. Your therapy should lead to increased feelings of empowerment to make healthful changes and experience more meaning and joy in your life.
