Great to meet you!

  • I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Board-Certified Music Therapist (BC-MT) — one of the few therapists in Washington who holds both credentials and integrates them into clinical work. I completed my Masters in Transpersonal Counseling at Naropa University and previously served as Director of Music Therapy at Carroll University. Over 20 years, I've built a practice around the people who are often hardest to reach: new parents navigating postpartum depression or birth trauma, families who've spent time in the NICU, neurodivergent adults, LGBTQ+ individuals, and people carrying the weight of complex, long-term trauma or childhood neglect. My own experience becoming a mother gave me a deeply personal understanding of how parenthood reshapes identity — and how disorienting it can feel to lose yourself in the process of caring for someone else.

My approach to therapy

Healing happens in relationship, and I take that seriously. Sessions with me tend to feel more like a real conversation than a clinical evaluation. I use humor to put you at ease — not to minimize what you're carrying, but because laughter and healing aren't opposites. Depending on what your nervous system needs, I draw from mindfulness, somatic techniques, music therapy, ACT, CPT, and attachment-based approaches. I don't use a one-size-fits-all protocol; I adapt to you. My goal is to help you access the clarity and self-compassion you already carry — because you have more capacity to heal than you probably believe right now.

What you can expect from me

Expect warmth, probably some laughter, and maybe a few tears — all of that is welcome. We'll spend the first session getting to know each other: I'll want to understand what brought you here, what you've already tried, and where you want to go. You won't be handed a workbook or a diagnosis checklist. You'll be heard. Most people leave that first session feeling lighter — like they finally said the thing they'd been holding for too long. We build from there, at a pace that respects both your readiness and your nervous system.
