Great to meet you!

Do you often feel like your emotions are working against you? Do you crave a more consistent feeling of inner harmony both within yourself and your relationships? I can help!

Becoming a therapist was a career change that I’m so grateful I made. I really love the work! I use my innate curiosity and non-judgemental attitude to understand how life has shaped my clients and to work with them to find ways of unlearning/healing the habits that no longer work for them. Central to my work is developing a safe, reliable therapeutic relationship out of which my clients can find within themselves the ability to improve their inner and outer experience of their lives. I am also here to regularly offer new perspectives, insights, and coping skills but you will be surprised at the power and agency you already possess!

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and our cat, Pluma. I also love reading (mostly psychology related, psych nerd!), spending time in nature, and consider myself to be a podcast and TV aficionado.

My approach to therapy

I have a Master’s in Clinical Counseling (equivalent to the education of a Marriage and Family Therapist) and am in the process of becoming certified in a gentle technique called Somatic Experiencing that works with emotions through the body. It’s a nice compliment to my more heady approaches that include person-centered therapy, CBT, mindfulness techniques, and attachment theory. I bring substantial experience to my work with adults throughout the whole spectrum of the lifespan. I am neurodivergent, LGBTQIA+, and poly/ENM affirming.

What you can expect from me

In the first session (and throughout our work together), I go at the pace of the client. Sometimes clients come in with a lot to get off their chest right away and others need to ease in and develop some trust with me first. I respect and adapt to what the client needs. The nuts and bolts of a first session is talking about the structure and parameters of therapy and hearing about what brings the client to therapy, but primarily we're getting to know each other a bit and beginning to establish a sense of safety.

Let’s schedule a free 15-minute consultation and see if we’re a good fit for each other!
