Great to meet you!

I believe that mental health care should be compassionate, personalized, and centered around the individual. As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner , I strive to create a safe, nonjudgemental space where clients feel respected, heard, and comfortable being themselves. I take the time to understand each person's unique experiences, concerns, and goals rather that a one size fits all approach. My goal is to work collaboratively to develop a treatment plan that supports your mental health and help you improve your quality of life. I have been a Registered Nurse for 11 years, with the last 4 years being inpatient acute psychiatric mental health.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is collaborative, evidence-based, and individualized. I believe you are the expert on your own experiences, and my role is to provide clinical experience, guidance, education, and support while we work together to identify the best path forward. I take a holistic approach by considering your mental health, physical health, life experiences, relationships, environment, and personal goals. When appropriate, I incorporate meditation management, psychoeducation, and therapeutic strategies to support lasting improvement. I want you to feel empowered and involved in your care, with treatment decisions made together in a way that feels realistic and meaningful for you.

What you can expect from me

During your first session, I take time to get to know you and understand what brings you to care. We will discuss your current concerns, symptoms, medical and mental health history, medications, and any factors that may be affecting your well being. We will also talk about your goals and what you hope to get out of treatment. I will answer your questions, provide education about treatment options, and work with you to develop an individualized plan moving forward. My goal is for you to leave your first session understood and confident that we have a clear plan for your care.
