Great to meet you!

Great to meet you, I’m Beverly. I’m a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 30 years of nursing experience, and caring for people has truly been my life’s work. Over the years, I have learned that mental health is deeply connected to physical health, and I bring that whole person perspective into every session.

I spent many years as a Family Nurse Practitioner before focusing fully on mental health, and that experience allows me to look beyond symptoms and understand how everything in your life connects. Clients often share that they feel at ease with me quickly, and that matters to me. I want you to feel comfortable, respected, and genuinely heard from the moment we begin working together.

Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, or something that just does not feel quite right, you do not have to figure it out alone. I’m here to support you with compassion, experience, and a steady presence.

My approach to therapy

My approach starts with connection. I take time to build trust, explain the process clearly, and create a space where you feel safe to share openly. I use thoughtful, open ended questions to really understand what you are going through and how it is impacting your daily life.

From there, I look at the bigger picture. This includes your mental health history, medical background, lifestyle, and social factors. I believe in treating the whole person, not just a diagnosis. Together, we explore what is contributing to your current challenges and what will truly help you move forward.

Care with me is always collaborative. I will guide you with my clinical experience, while making sure your voice is central in every decision. Whether we are discussing medication, lifestyle changes, or coping strategies, the plan we create will be personalized to you and aligned with your goals.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a chance for us to begin building a strong foundation together. We will start with introductions and I will walk you through what to expect so you feel comfortable and informed.

This initial evaluation typically lasts between 45 minutes to an hour. During that time, I will ask about what brought you in, how your symptoms are affecting your life, and gather a thorough history including medical, mental health, and family background. This helps me understand the full picture and rule out any underlying factors that may be contributing to how you are feeling.

We will also begin discussing possible diagnoses and treatment options, and I will make sure you feel included and informed every step of the way. By the end of the session, my goal is for you to feel heard, supported, and more hopeful about what comes next.
