Great to meet you!

Welcome! I’m Beverly. I’ve been in the Counseling field for 25+ years as a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC). My degree in Psychology is from Purdue University, with minors in Sociology and Women’s Studies. My graduate degree is in Counseling from Indiana University. While living on the east coast, I also completed courses in Counseling at John’s Hopkins University, in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Narrative Therapy.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative and supportive. A great deal of a therapist’s work is to help a client identify and remove obstacles that get in the way of the healing process. I believe that when people feel seen and truly understood, they feel empowered to be their highest self.

What you can expect from me

I would like most of all for clients to have a sense of hope after attending sessions. Hope is what empowers us to keep going, even in our darkest moments. A key goal of counseling is for clients to understand themselves better and to feel more agency in their own lives. Clarity comes from seeing ourselves and others realistically, and clarity brings true empowerment.
