Great to meet you!

If anxiety keeps finding you at the end of the day, or grief has settled somewhere quiet and heavy, or anger keeps showing up in ways that surprise even you — you're in the right place. I've spent my career walking alongside people through anxiety, grief, trauma, anger, and the kind of stress that follows you home at the end of the day. My work is grounded in the belief that you already carry more strength than you give yourself credit for, and part of my job is helping you see it.

I show up the same way in sessions as I do in the rest of my life: steady, present, and genuinely glad to be there. My faith and my church community keep me steady. My family keeps me laughing, especially my grandkids, who have taught me more about patience and joy than any textbook ever could. I stay active because movement is part of how I take care of my own mental health, and I'm a firm believer that we can't pour from an empty cup. When I have quiet time, you'll find me stitching, which is my version of meditation, or catching up with friends over a long meal.

My approach to therapy

I'm warm, but I'm also direct. I'll listen closely, and I'll also be honest with you about what I'm noticing, because I think that's where real change starts.

My approach is collaborative and practical. I draw from Person Centered Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you understand the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and to gently work through experiences that still have a hold on you. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help you make peace with what you can't control while moving toward the life you actually want. When you need momentum, Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Problem-Solving Therapy help us set clear goals and build forward. With younger clients, Play Therapy opens the door to feelings they don't yet have words for. I'm also trained in Critical Incident Stress Debriefing for those navigating the aftermath of a crisis.

Underneath all of it is a strength-based lens. We'll talk about what's hard, and we'll also talk about what's working, what you're proud of, and what you want more of. Healing is not just about reducing pain. It's about building a life that feels like yours again.

What you can expect from me

You can expect to be met with kindness and zero judgment. In our first session I'll ask what brought you in and what you're hoping will feel different, and I'll invite you to share at whatever pace feels right. You are never obligated to tell me your whole story in the first hour. Some people arrive ready to talk. Others need a few sessions to warm up. Both are completely okay.

I'll ask some background questions about your history, your relationships, your health, and what support you have around you, so I can understand the full picture of your life rather than just the problem you came in with. You're welcome to ask me questions too, about my style, my experience, or anything else that helps you feel comfortable.
