Great to meet you!

Hi! I’m Beverly Maloney, LCSW, and the owner of Oak Haven Counseling. With over 20 years of experience, I work with adults, children, and families facing a variety of challenges, including life transitions, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and more. My experience in hospitals, schools, and crisis shelters has shaped my approach to mental health, providing me with a wide perspective on the complexities people face.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy should be a place where you feel truly heard and supported. I use time-tested strategies to help people feel more in control, but I always adapt them to what works for you. My approach is warm, collaborative, and focused on giving you real tools that can make a difference in your everyday life.

My experience working in schools gave me valuable insight into how mental health affects learning, behavior, and family dynamics. This has helped me develop a flexible approach that’s tailored to each client’s unique needs, ensuring you feel supported and understood every step of the way, no matter where you are in your journey.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we’ll take some time to get to know each other and discuss what brought you to therapy. It’s a chance for you to share your goals and concerns, and for me to understand where you’re coming from. I’ll work with you to build a plan that feels right for you, and we’ll talk about what you can expect as we move forward. My goal is for you to feel comfortable and supported from the very beginning.

Whether you're navigating a life change, relationship struggles, or emotional challenges, you’ll leave each session with something you can apply right away. I believe that real change happens when you feel empowered, understood, and supported. Together, we’ll focus on what matters most to you and work toward the life you want to create.
