Great to meet you!

Distress tolerance, emotion regulation, phases of life challenges, and overall improvement of intrapersonal and interpersonal relationships may be areas of concern that show up as depression, anxiety, stress-related symptoms, and a spectrum of challenges that impact your ideal life. My name is Bianca Cobarruvias, and over the past five years of my practice as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, my ultimate role is to assist you in gaining a better understanding of your struggles. Earning your trust and helping you establish a secure, empowering baseline for your care is an honor I hold deeply. ¿Hablas Español? Te invito, llámame. I am a bilingual Spanish and English-speaking therapist who works with preteens, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Whether you struggle with your relationships with family, romantic partners, or friends, or you simply want to quiet down the intrapersonal struggles within yourself, I am here to help you reduce the impact of these symptoms while gaining empowerment, drive, and confidence to accomplish your long-term goals.

My approach to therapy

My approach to psychotherapy aligns with the core belief that I am being invited into your life, and I will meet that invitation by providing understanding and resources for true healing. I believe that genuine emotional growth flourishes when we balance clinical expertise with a deeply authentic, humanistic connection. Operating through a trauma-informed lens, I utilize an integrative approach that leans heavily on Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. By blending these clinical modalities with mindfulness, play therapy, and emotion-focused techniques, we will outline tangible goals to enhance your quality of daily living. We will actively collaborate to identify the specific tools and coping skills that work best for your reality, ensuring our therapeutic work translates into meaningful, sustainable progress.

What you can expect from me

Reaching out for support takes immense courage, and my hope is that our initial time together acts as a quiet refuge where you can safely step away from the heavy demands of daily stress. I am able to meet in person in a warm, comfy setting in Camarillo or Oxnard, or via telehealth from the comfort of your own home, primarily offering morning and afternoon sessions. During our first session, I strive to cultivate a calm, non-judgmental environment right from the start. We will gently explore your history, symptoms, and the specific challenges bringing you to therapy at a natural, comfortable pace without any pressure to have all the answers. During your time working with me, you will have the ability to decide what treatment modalities work best for you and the route of treatment we take, ensuring you leave our first meeting feeling fully heard and supported.
