Great to meet you!

Hi! So nice to meet you! I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a doctoral student at Our Lady of the Lake University, where I’m working toward my PsyD in Counseling Psychology.

I work primarily with children, teens, and young adults, and this is truly where I’ve found my sweet spot as a therapist. I especially enjoy working with people in their 20s and 30s as they figure out relationships, careers, family dynamics, anxiety, boundaries, and what they actually want their lives to look like.

Couples work is another part of my practice that I genuinely love! Relationships can be complicated, and I enjoy helping couples better understand each other, communicate differently, and remember that they're on the same team.

Growing up in a Latina household where family, connection, and emotional expression were valued has shaped how I see people and relationships. It's made me curious about the families, cultures, and experiences that have shaped you, too. I believe those parts of your story matter, and I want them to have a place in our work together.

My approach to therapy

My style is warm, collaborative, and strengths-based. I’m an active therapist who will ask questions, celebrate your wins, challenge you when you need it, and probably laugh with you along the way.

I primarily draw from Strengths-Based and Narrative Therapy, which means we won’t only focus on what’s going wrong. We’ll also pay attention to what’s already working, the strengths you bring with you, and the stories you’ve learned to tell yourself along the way. Together, we can look at what still fits, what doesn’t, and what you’d like to do differently.

I also know that therapy looks different for everyone. With kids and teens, I focus on making sessions engaging, comfortable, and appropriate for their age. With adults and couples, our work might involve deeper conversations, understanding patterns, or finding practical ways to approach challenges differently. Whatever brings you in, I want our sessions to feel like a conversation where you can be yourself, feel understood, and leave with something to think about or try that helps you get to your goal.

What you can expect from me

First things first, you don’t need to have the perfect words or even know exactly where to start! Our first session is really about getting to know each other. I’ll ask questions about what brought you to therapy, what’s been going on in your life, and what you’re hoping might be different. You’ll also have plenty of opportunities to ask me questions, too!

I know meeting with a new therapist can feel a little awkward at first, and that’s okay! There’s no expectation that you share your entire life story in our first session. We’ll take time to talk about what matters to you, what you’d like to work on, and what our time together might look like.

More than anything, I want you to leave feeling heard, a little more comfortable, and hopeful about what comes next. We can figure out the rest together!
