Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Blanca, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas and founder of Clarity Corner Counseling. I work with children, teens, adults, and parents navigating anxiety, ADHD, big emotions, behavioral concerns, school stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, or simply feeling overwhelmed.

I know starting therapy can feel intimidating. My goal is for therapy to feel comfortable, supportive, and practical—a place where you or your child can show up without judgment or pressure to have everything figured out.

I have a special passion for working with children and teens, particularly those who are neurodivergent or struggling emotionally, behaviorally, or academically. I also support parents who are trying to better understand what their child needs and how to help.

My background in special education gives me a unique understanding of ADHD, neurodivergence, learning differences, behavioral needs, and school challenges. I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling and Development and a Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, allowing me to bring both clinical and behavioral perspectives to therapy.

My counseling style is warm, down-to-earth, collaborative, and practical. I’m not here to simply sit back and nod. We’ll talk through what’s happening, identify patterns, build coping and communication skills, and work toward changes that make sense in everyday life.

With younger clients, I use developmentally appropriate strategies to build emotional awareness, communication, confidence, coping skills, and emotional regulation. With teens and adults, we may focus on anxiety, stress, relationships, self-esteem, boundaries, emotional regulation, and life transitions.

I provide therapy in both English and Spanish through telehealth across Texas. Above all, I want you to feel heard, understood, and comfortable being yourself in therapy.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, practical, and individualized. I want you to feel comfortable being yourself, talking openly, and knowing you won’t be judged. I’m not a one-size-fits-all therapist, and I’m not going to simply sit back and nod. I want our sessions to feel like a conversation while still helping you move toward meaningful change.

I draw from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused strategies, behavioral approaches, and other evidence-based interventions depending on your needs. Together, we’ll look at patterns, identify strengths, build practical coping and communication skills, and find strategies you can actually use outside of therapy.

With children and teens, I adjust therapy to their developmental level and personality. Sessions may focus on understanding emotions, emotional regulation, coping skills, confidence, communication, problem-solving, and behavior. I also believe supporting parents can be an important part of helping younger clients make lasting progress.

With adults, I provide a supportive space to work through anxiety, stress, relationships, boundaries, life transitions, family dynamics, and the pressure that can come from trying to meet everyone else’s expectations while still figuring out what you need.

As a bilingual therapist, I provide therapy in both English and Spanish and understand that culture, family, language, and identity can shape how we experience and talk about our struggles. My goal is for you to leave therapy feeling understood, supported, and equipped with tools that make a difference in your everyday life.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is really about getting to know each other and helping me understand what brought you to therapy. You don’t have to come in knowing exactly what to say or having everything figured out—that’s part of what we’ll work through together.

We’ll talk about what’s been going on, what you’d like support with, and what you hope will be different as a result of therapy. I’ll ask about your background, current concerns, relationships, stressors, strengths, and goals, but I want the session to feel like a conversation—not an interrogation or a checklist.

When I work with children and teens, I also spend time understanding the parent or caregiver’s concerns while making sure the child has space to feel comfortable, build trust with me, and have their own voice in the process. I know parents are often coming to me because they’re worried and want to know how to help, so I want them to feel supported too.

By the end of our first session, we’ll begin identifying goals and talk about what our work together could look like. You don’t have to leave the first appointment with everything solved. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, understood, and hopeful that we have a plan for moving forward.
