Great to meet you!

Hailing from the South Side of Chicago, IL, Bobbie comes from a big and rambunctious family where her passion for people was planted at a young age and then blossomed during her education journey. It wasn’t until later in her journey that Bobbie encountered her own mental health struggles began the work to heal from her traumas, and discovered the need for culturally competent and compassionate mental health professionals. During her new beginning, she began to look deeper at herself and discovered her true passion, which led to pursuing a career in the field of mental health. Bobbie graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a B.S. in Community and Environmental Sociology in 2017 and Edgewood College with an M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2022.

My approach to therapy

Bobbie has a strong desire to work with clients of color, especially Black clients, by supporting and assisting them in the healing process from trauma, including childhood and racialized trauma, using models such as Liberation Psychology, Narrative Family Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She hopes to create a therapy space of active listening and empowerment for the client to take ownership of their story, a comfortable space to be vulnerable and promote growth, and a place where the client can be celebrated in their uniqueness. As an LMFT, Bobbie is eager to continue learning and growing to match the needs of the community she serves.

What you can expect from me

During your first session with Bobbie, you can expect a welcoming presence, a listening ear, and a mind ready to better understand what it takes to support you! Bobbie's goal is to allow for the client to feel like the expert of their experience while also receiving the support they need to unlock parts of themselves they may have lost, never seen, or are eager to restore.
