I grew up in an underdeveloped country where mental illness was taboo and suicide rates soared. This environment fueled my curiosity to better understand human behavior. While studying law in undergrad, I took a criminology course that helped me recognize my true passion. I pursued graduate studies in mental health counseling and spent the past 10 years working as a clinician.
I will utilize various evidence-based approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and person-centered, strengths-based, and psychodynamic modalities. I can help you work through anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, and various life transitions. I am sensitive to diversity in the areas of race, culture, spirituality, and gender and sexual identity.
Many of us are so highly critical of ourselves and set unrealistic expectations, so I look forward to helping my clients identify and unravel harmful irrational beliefs. Therapy can help you in your journey toward being your best self. I would like to help you reach your goals by creating a safe, judgement-free space to work through your struggles and build on your strengths.
