Great to meet you!

Hello-My name is Bonni Wulvik and I am a licensed professional counselor-board certified supervisor of LPC’s and am a PhD Health Psychology candidate. I grew up in interior Alaska and love partaking in the outdoor adventures as well as exploring different cultures and nature through travel. I am a mother to five adult children and am married to what I call my soul-mate; I understand the complexities of family and relationships and love watching my blended family grow and flourish. It is an honor and feels sacred for me to work with people enduring a challenging time in life-I thoroughly enjoy working with adolescents, and adults. I am Gottman trained to help couples maneuver through trauma, life challenges or mental health struggles. I am also EMDR trained, which is the only approved modality of treatment aside from CBT therapy to address trauma. Over the years I have worked with families in various capacities, for example as a social worker, school counselor and now as a therapist for 29 years. I am honored and look forward to walking side by side with you on your healing journey.

My approach to therapy

My approach is rooted in empathy, compassion, and evidence-based practices, tailored to meet the unique needs of each person. I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy), and I am Gottman trained. My approach is holistic in that I work with the whole person-their emotional health, any traumatic past events through nervous system work and physical health in order to achieve the growth desired. I am committed to providing professional and personalized care to support people on their journey in life towards healing, growth and living a more fulfilled, meaningful life.

What you can expect from me

I prioritize a client-centered approach, ensuring that the person's needs are at the core of each session. I help to foster a collaborative and empowering therapeutic relationship where clients feel heard, validated, and supported in their journey. By combining my experiences, trauma expertise, and client-centered philosophy, I strive to create a safe and nurturing space where individuals can explore their issues, rebuild a sense of safety and empowerment, and work towards healing and growth.
