Brandi Robinson-Thomas

Greetings! My name is Brandi, I'm a licensed clinical social worker in the Jacksonville, Florida area. I obtained my bachelor's degree in social work from Florida A&M University 2012 and my master's degree in social work from Florida State University 2022. I am newly licensed; however, I have worked in the social work field for over 10 years. I've worked in child welfare, substance abuse, private practice and elderly care. I work with individuals, families, groups and couples.

My goal is to meet you where are you by using a holistic approach. I want to create a safe, welcoming space for you to share and grow. I believe you are the expert of your life and I am here to assist you reach your goals. With that being said, I use a collaborative approach (we are a team). I use the following interventions: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (helps you connect feelings, thoughts and behaviors), Motivational Interviewing (helps molds motivation during treatment), Trauma Informed (awareness of the impact of trauma and prevent any further trauma) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (accepting reality, changing unhealthy behaviors by learning skills to manage big emotions). These interventions are commonly use for the following diagnoses: depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress disorder, mood disorder, acute stress disorder, adjustment disorder, etc.

During the first season, we will begin to build rapport. I will complete an initial intake and learn what brings you to therapy and how may I assist. Once goals are established, I can develop a treatment plan. The treatment plan will be a guide to obtaining your goals.
