Great to meet you!
Many of our stories can start with a youth and their troubled past. I'm no different. However, through a series of trial and tribulation, my past helped shape who I am now...
Mine started with a troubled teen later turned into a troubled young adult. There were many people along the way who reminded me of my shortcomings and my continued destiny to blunder. The worst part, I believed them for a long time. My difficulties turned into desperation, when I decided to join the Army in 2009. That was the blessing I needed in my life, opening many new doors that otherwise weren't possible. I served as a Combat Medic for 11 years and continue to serve as a Commissioned Officer in the Army Nurse Corps. After graduating from MidAmerica Nazarene University, I served the community as an Intensive Care Registered Nurse for 7 years. I graduated from the University of Central Missouri as a Family Nurse Practitioner working in Pulmonary Medicine and Investigative Research. I later graduated from Norwich University as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and have since worked across a broad range of situations, including a spectrum of mood disorders, personality disorders, ADHD, autism, sleep disorders, PTSD, and more. I've also had the privilege of understanding genetic and precision medicine that has largely influenced my patient care approach.
While it took time to find my way through torrential rain and thick fog, I refused to let someone else write my story for me. I'm here to support yours at Next Chapter Psychiatric Care.
