Great to meet you!

Hello there,

My name is Brandon Taylor and I am a licensed professional clinical counselor and supervisor in the state of Kentucky. I have had the privilege of being a licensed therapist for the past 9 years; throughout this last decade, I have been fortunate to work with children, adolescents, adults, and their families on a variety of issues and challenges in the mental health field. Primarily I have worked with clients to address ADHD, anxiety, grief, depression, trauma, couples/relationship issues, stress management, etc. but I am open to supporting any client looking to better oneself.

I am eager to have the opportunity to meet with you and potentially embark on this mental health journey. Whether this is your first time trying counseling or you are seasoned with mental health work, I look forward to creating a space where you can use the tool of therapy to navigate challenges accordingly. Thank you for your time and consideration - let's stack those bricks.

My approach to therapy

I believe that it extremely difficult to do therapy with somebody who feels like a complete stranger. Yes, therapy is a place where one goes to experience objectivity and nonjudgment which are key aspects in meeting with a professional but that does not mean a client should have no clue with whom they are speaking. Thus, I feel it is ever so important to develop a strong, professional, and therapeutic rapport with one's client which ultimately will help facilitate an enriching counseling experience. Upon establishment of that dynamic, I look forward to the client taking the opportunity to lead at times as I recognize that I am no expert on the life my client lives; working together means learning how best to support, advocate for, and challenge a client and this is much more achievable when clients are empowered in their therapy experience.

What you can expect from me

During our first session a client can expect to be afforded the opportunity to address what is bringing them to therapy at this time. I look forward to having the privilege of tackling issues together but that starts with listening as well as working to develop the aforementioned therapeutic rapport. I will work to create a space from the onset of our first meeting in which a client can be themselves openly and fully so we can proficiently address and process challenges, issues, and symptomologies that the client may be facing at this time.
