Brandon Washington

My name is Brandon R. Washington, and I am a board-certified Licensed Clinical Social Worker. In addition to offering clinical psychotherapy, I am also a Certified Peer Support Specialist and a certified Adult Residential Facility administrator. I have clinical specialties in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Problem-Solving Therapy (PST), Motivational interviewing (MI), and substance use disorders (SUD). These specialties make me an adept psychotherapist with more than 10 years of experience.

My approach to goal setting with clients is all about working together to define what you want to accomplish in our time together. Additionally, I utilize the SMART heuristic when helping clients set new goals, or when re-engaging in goals that may have failed in the past. This often starts by building trust between us and getting comfortable with the push-pull nature of therapy. Over time, we'll introduce this method into our sessions, set well-defined goals, and track your progress.

From the first session to the last, my approach will always focus on ways that we can work together to define what we can accomplish in our time together. This often starts by discussing expectations, building a genuine sense of trust, and getting acquainted with mixed modalities and the Jungian style of therapy. Over time, we'll work together to set goals and track your clinical and personal progress toward your goals.
