My approach to therapy

Dr. Yip provides therapy to individuals striving to make meaningful, positive changes in their lives. His approach is grounded in building a genuine, trusting relationship where you feel safe, seen, and supported. He believes healing comes from both confronting pain and embracing your truth. Dr. Yip’s sessions include humor and authenticity, to facilitate moments of true connections to uncover the parts of you that may have been hidden, and help you find your voice, your purpose, and your strength.

Dr. Yip takes a collaborative approach to therapy, conceptualizing cases with a cognitive-behavioral approach, psychodynamic theory, and ecological systems theory. This approach starts at identifying the roots of the problem by understanding the individual’s social environment, daily needs, obstacles, and daily life.
