Dr. Brandon Yip, PsyD, JD is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in California & specializes in Forensic Psychology, Neuropsychology, Suicidology, Health Psychology, & Asian-American Psychology. Dr. Yip holds a doctorate in clinical psychology (APA-Accredited) & a law degree. He completed a 2 year post-doctoral fellowship in Psychological & Neuropsychological Assessment at Pacific Clinics & an additional 1 year post-doctoral fellowship in Community Health. Dr. Yip completed his doctoral internship in Forensic & Correctional Psychology at the CA Dept. of Correction & Rehabilitation (APA-Accredited). He also completed a Neuropsychology externship at Children's Hospital LA/USC Keck Medicine.
Aside from his private practice, Dr. Yip leads the Psychological Testing/Evaluation Program at Pacific Clinics where he provides psychological & neuropsychological testing, clinical consultations, direct services in the school-based MH program, & a probation diversion program in partnership with the LA County Dept. of Probation. Dr. Yip is a Supervising Psychologist for the agency’s Clinical Psychology Training Program, including the APA-accredited Doctoral Psychology Internship Program & the practicum training program. Dr. Yip also supervises interns at the agency's Asian Pacific Family Center & the Latino Youth Program. Further, he is a consultant to various local, state, & federal law enforcement agencies. Dr. Yip serves as a research peer reviewer for Springer Journals, a subject-matter expert for suicide & risk assessment, & a consultant to a clinical translational science research consortium. Dr. Yip developed the Suicide Risk Assessment Scale (CRA) & the Violent Threat Risk Assessment Scale (VTRA) & serves as the Managing Director of the Center for Risk Assessment.
