Great to meet you!

Life can look a different when we shift our perspective and begin breaking old patterns. Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, ADHD, divorce, relationship struggles or even church hurt, you don't have to figure it all out alone. With a background in Christian counseling, pastoral care and chaplaincy, I welcome clients who would like to incorporate faith beliefs that contribute to your unique beliefs and background. Change is possible and sometimes we need someone to walk alongside us as we find a new way forward.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, direct and collaborative. I believe counseling is a partnership where you feel supported, understood and empowered while also being challenged to grow. I take a holistic approach that considers connection between mind, body, and spirit, incorporating practical strategies to help you understand your patterns, manage emotions and create meaningful and lasting change. If faith is important to you, we can incorporate it into our work together; that choice is always yours. I have over 15 years of experience with various modalities of counseling with diverse populations including adults with disabilities, incarcerated men and women, youth and families, vocational rehabilitation, foster care and adoption and older adults. We will use a number of strategies and methods related to counseling in your sessions including CBT, ERP, motivational interviewing and EMDR to name a few depending on your unique strengths and needs. We will also use practical approaches that currently work for you and build on those strategies while adding more tools that work for you.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is an opportunity for you to share your story, discuss what brings you to counseling, and identify what you hope to change. We will jump right in and begin exploring your concerns, strengths, and goals in a comfortable, judgement-free space. You don't need to have everything figured out or know exactly where to start. We will work together to determine what you need and begin developing a path forward at a pace that feels right for you. While we won't have it all figured out, you will leave the session with more clarity and encouragement to move forward. The first session is roughly 1 hour in length.
