Great to meet you!

I am here to help you determine ways that you can build upon your strengths and move beyond situations of trauma by focusing on healing and allowing yourself to find meaning and purpose in your life. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, it has been my passion to assist individuals in working through life experiences and identifying positive ways of eliminating destructive patterns that may otherwise prevent individuals from experiencing the life that they desire for themselves. I have an extensive background in working with adjudicated youth with mental health disorders and problematic sexual behavior as well as adults with mental health conditions, substance abuse, relationship challenges, and traumatic experiences. If you allow me to assist, I will work along side of you to help you identify achievable goals and provide you with a listening ear while we together examine internal and external challenges and build upon your strengths and protective factors. It would be a pleasure to help you rediscover a healthier and happier version of yourself through a collaborative approach and dedication to the life that you deserve. Thank you for taking this first step in helping yourself.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is based on a collaborative and supportive endeavor that is compassionate for each individual and considerate of experiences of trauma and areas of concerns in one's life. I primarily approach therapy through a Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) lens, with a focus on increasing internal and external awareness, examining and restructuring cognitive processes, and identifying skills or processes to reduce stress, make improved decisions, and seek satisfaction and growth through the process of change. I plan to provide a safe space for you to work through life challenges and assist you in finding meaning and purpose in your life as you become more present and intentional in your daily life. My hope is empowering you and assisting you in growing your potential.

What you can expect from me

It is my hope that the first session provides you with a feeling of validation, purpose, and support as you decide to take on therapy as a positive step in your life journey. Together we will determine issues that may be impacting you in your life and what therapy can provide to you moving forward. We will work together to establish a positive plan that will address your concerns at a comfortable pace in a nonjudgmental and supportive environment. Thank you for taking this first step.
