Great to meet you!

I believe that everyone deserves a safe, supportive space where they can feel heard, understood, and valued without judgment. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I am passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s challenges, discover their strengths, and experience meaningful growth and healing.

My professional background includes over a decade working in corrections, experience in substance use counseling, and extensive clinical work in crisis intervention and outpatient mental health. These experiences have given me a unique perspective on the complexities of human behavior, trauma, resilience, and the challenges people face.

I work with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and other mental health concerns. I particularly enjoy working with first responders, law enforcement professionals, and individuals navigating trauma or significant life changes.

My goal is to meet you exactly where you are, helping you recognize that your past experiences and current struggles do not have to define your future.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and individualized. I believe that meaningful change begins with a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, authenticity, and mutual respect.

I utilize evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). I also incorporate person-centered, trauma-informed, and strengths-based techniques to meet each client’s unique needs.

I strive to create an environment where clients feel comfortable being themselves while also being appropriately challenged to recognize unhealthy patterns, develop practical coping skills, and make meaningful changes.

I believe therapy should be more than simply talking about problems. It should empower you with the insight, tools, and confidence needed to navigate life’s challenges and move toward lasting emotional wellness.

For clients who desire it, I am also comfortable integrating Christian faith and biblical principles into the therapeutic process, while always respecting each individual’s personal beliefs and values.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a foundation of trust. I understand that starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you’ve never attended counseling before.

We’ll spend time discussing what brought you to therapy, exploring relevant aspects of your personal history, and identifying what you hope to accomplish. I’ll also explain the therapeutic process, answer your questions, and help you understand what working together might look like.

My approach is relaxed, conversational, and judgment-free. You won’t be pressured to share anything you’re not ready to discuss.

I believe therapy works best when you feel comfortable, respected, and actively involved in your own healing journey. My goal is for you to leave your first session feeling heard, supported, and hopeful about the path ahead.
