Dr. Breanna Dent is a compassionate and dedicated psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner committed to providing evidence-based, holistic care across the lifespan. With nearly a decade of healthcare experience, she brings a deep understanding of both the medical and emotional dimensions of mental wellness.
Dr. Dent earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she also completed advanced clinical training in psychiatric emergency care, outpatient psychiatry, and substance-use treatment. Her practice experience includes providing psychiatric assessments, medication management, and crisis stabilization in high-acuity settings.
Her clinical approach integrates trauma-informed care, therapeutic de-escalation, and collaborative treatment planning. Dr. Dent has cared for patients of all ages, including children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. She has a strong background in treating complex presentations, including mood disorders, ADHD, psychosis, PTSD, and co-occurring substance-use disorders.
In addition to her clinical expertise, Dr. Dent is a published scholar whose doctoral dissertation reflects her passion for equipping communities to respond compassionately to mental health crises.
