Great to meet you!

My name is Bree Hough (she/her), and I founded Mindful Path Counseling to create a therapeutic space rooted in connection, compassion, and authenticity. I believe healing begins when we can meet ourselves with curiosity rather than judgment. Therapy can help us navigate the balance between self-acceptance and meaningful change.

My practice is grounded in the understanding that healing is a whole-person experience. I take a feminist, body-centered approach that honors your lived experience, autonomy, and inherent worth. I am committed to the principles of Body Liberation and Health at Every Size® (HAES), affirming that all bodies deserve respect, care, and belonging. Here, you do not need to change your body to be worthy of healing.

My approach to therapy

We do not all begin life from the same place. Our experiences are shaped by our relationships, identities, communities, and the systems we navigate. Many of us carry burdens we did not choose—body shame, discrimination, trauma, chronic stress, anxiety, depression, or the pressure to be someone other than who we are. If you're feeling disconnected from yourself or overwhelmed by life's challenges, you're not alone. Healing is not about fixing what is wrong with you; it is about understanding your story, reclaiming your strengths, and creating a life that feels more authentic, empowered, and fulfilling.

What you can expect from me

During our initial sessions, we will identify your goals for therapy and work together to find the best plan for you.

Healing looks different for everyone. Together, we can explore what has shaped you, deepen self-understanding, and build sustainable ways of responding to life's challenges. My work integrates talk therapy, EMDR, somatic and body-based approaches, nervous system regulation, creative expression (art, movement, music, and writing), and the Safe and Sound Protocol®. I believe healing happens through both insight and reconnecting with the wisdom of the body, fostering greater safety, agency, and self-trust.
