Great to meet you!

I am a seasoned clinician with nearly 20 years of clinical experience. I am queer allied, gender affirming and with a strong passion for women's mental health and reproductive mental health. I have several evidenced based practice certifications and bring clear strategies and methods to help you reach your goals. However I believe strongly in the power of the therapy relationship and avoid a cookie-cutter approach with your values, goals and interests most in mind. I have lived experience from which I draw my passion for my work and understand what it may feel like to be lost, hopeless and ashamed. However my focus will be on your care and I am a strong protector of the boundaries of the therapy relationship. I believe therapy requires a special fit and ask that any referral meet with me first to consider if I am the person you would like in your corner on your wellness journey.

My approach to therapy

I am certified in reproductive mental health, interpersonal therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy for insomnia, heartmath biofeedback, cognitive processing therapy for PTSD and prolonged exposure for PTSD as well as R.O.S.E. for prevention of perinatal depression. I have training in mindfulness based therapies as well. I approach therapy by getting to know my clients and what is important to them. I attempt to tailor treatment in line with what your needs and goals are with deep respect for culture and freedom of self. I am direct and active yet use humor often and strive to be warm and compassionate with trauma informed lens,

What you can expect from me

The first session is an intake that is a general overview of your biopsychosocial well-being so that I may understand both what brings you to therapy but also your unique context and history which informs the present. From there I will provide a provisional diagnosis and treatment plan which evolves by it's nature over time. I take care to understand how you prefer to be called and your own understanding of your diagnosis and needs. I work to understand if I can meet your needs and will provide referrals if at any time I cannot.
