Great to meet you!

My life's journey led me to become a Marriage & Family Therapist. I worked in foster care for about 3 years & community mental health for 20 years. About 3 years ago, I returned to school to work on my doctoral degree in Psychology; I'm still in that process. My lived experience includes witnessing part of a civil war in Central America, childhood trauma, witnessing domestic violence as a child, poverty, acculturation, assimilation, & racism.

My approach to therapy

I use several treatment approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT for short-term treatment of trauma such as physical, emotional, or sexual abuse, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which can be highly effective for treating trauma.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we’ll get to know each other and discuss what brings you to therapy. You may know that therapy is a process that unfolds over time. I’ll move at your pace, step by step, and I’ll be here to guide you through it. This is your time, and there is no rush.
