Great to meet you!

I am a middle-aged Mexican-American mother of two, sharing my insights and experiences as a mental health professional in Austin for many years. Originating from the vibrant city of El Paso, Texas, I carry rich ancestral ties to Mexico and the captivating Southwest.

Throughout my journey, I have had the honor of working with individuals from various backgrounds, each facing the unique wonders and challenges of life. Whether they're expectant and new parents, young adults embarking on their college adventures or career paths, or those navigating the complexities of mental health, people come to me for support in enhancing their quality of life. Together, we set goals and explore new pathways to turn those dreams into reality!

My approach to therapy

I have been trained in a variety of therapy models, although these terms rarely mean much for people new to therapy. Generally, most approaches focus on enhancing self-awareness, uncovering the root causes of challenges, recognizing strengths and resilience, and developing new skills and strategies that empower individuals to lead fulfilling lives. Each person's experience in therapy is unique. My training includes EMDR, CBT, ACT and DBT techniques to assist with recovery from depression, anxiety, and trauma-related symptoms. Additionally, I have a background in attachment theory, with training in the Circle of Security Parenting and Nurturing Parenting models. My personal wellness is strongly anchored in my mindfulness practice .

What you can expect from me

You can expect to find a safe space to explore parts of your life and self, find comfort and compassion, while being inspired to consider changes that could help you achieve what you want. I hope all my clients walk away from each session having gained new wisdom and skills that help them live their life to the fullest.
