Great to meet you!

I’m Brenda Gadson, a Professional Counselor with a Master in Counseling from Kean College of New Jersey. My training has prepared me to support children, adolescents, young adults, adults, and seniors navigating anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, grief, relationship concerns, identity questions, and life transitions. I also have a special interest in supporting LGBTQ+ clients and people working through gender dysphoria, transgender-related concerns, dissociative identity, eating disorders, OCD, PTSD, and women’s issues.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, culturally sensitive, and trauma-focused. I draw from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, motivational interviewing, person-centered care, psychodynamic and narrative therapy, and solution-focused brief therapy. Together, we’ll explore the experiences behind your concerns, build on your strengths, and use practical tools to support meaningful change at a pace that feels manageable.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect to leave sessions with greater clarity, practical coping tools, and a stronger understanding of themselves. Depending on your goals, we may focus on managing anxiety, depression, anger, stress, OCD, trauma, substance use, relationship concerns, self-esteem, grief, or identity-related challenges. My goal is to help you feel heard and supported while developing skills to navigate difficult emotions, strengthen relationships, and move toward a more empowered life.
