Great to meet you!

My name is Brenda Gillespie, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor from Belton, Texas. I enjoy working with children ages 6 and up, as well as adolescents, teens, and adults. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health and a Master's degree in Education, with a focus on special education and assessment.

I am a retired educator with 32 years of experience, the last seven of which were as a certified Professional School Counselor.

I believe healing begins with a single step, and I am here to support you or your child on your journey. We can work together on concerns such as grief, ADHD, autism, parenting, behavior, stress, trauma, and school issues. I have extensive experience and training in these and many other areas.

My approach to therapy

I offer a welcoming and comfortable space where you can feel secure in sharing your thoughts and feelings. I use a variety of approaches tailored to each person's unique needs.

My methods include:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): This approach focuses on changing patterns of thinking and behavior.
  • Person-Centered Therapy: In this method, you lead the session, and I provide non-judgmental support.
  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy: We work together to find solutions and set future goals.

Additionally, I use art therapy and sand therapy with clients of all ages, and play therapy specifically with children.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, my goal is for you to feel safe, relaxed, and comfortable. I want to hear your story and for you to feel free to share your concerns and ask questions. We will discuss your goals for counseling, and by the time you leave, I hope you will feel confident, heard, and ready for your next appointment.
