Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Brenda Montero, owner and CEO of Tranquility Cove Counseling. I am a bilingual licensed professional counselor, and I am here to provide a safe and non-judgmental environment to ensure you are able to work on healing yourself throughout your journey. The passion I have to help others allowed me to begin my therapeutic journey more than 20 years ago. Throughout the years, I have worked with children, teens, families, the elderly, and adults struggling with various mental health challenges with various diversities in multiple settings.

My approach to therapy

My specialties include PTSD, C-PTSD, trauma, abuse, domestic violence, anxiety, depression, teen mental health, family relationships, life events, grief/bereavement, military/veteran support, multicultural issues, sex/intimacy/romantic relationships, and LGBTQIA issues. The value and respect I have for each of my clients set me apart from other providers. I am genuine, honest, and direct. I have a great sense of humor with a splash of sarcasm. I enjoy spending time with family, playing with my fur-baby, reading, dancing, and anything beach or snow related. Above all, I love being a mom to the most vivacious mini-me.

What you can expect from me

I believe in the importance of creating a therapeutic space where you feel valued, safe, and understood without judgement. The first session is roughly 60 minutes and consists of review and discussion of expectations and policies. The intake assessment includes discussion of why one is seeking out treatment, background history, treatment history, social history, medical concerns, strengths, supports, and any other pertinent information. Upon completion, we collaboratively discuss treatment goals and objectives to ensure treatment is tailored to your specific needs.
