Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with ten years of experience in the state of Louisiana. I earned my BS in Psychology from the University of New Orleans and my Masters in Social Work (MSW) from the Southern University at New Orleans. My own journey began in a home impacted by alcoholism and mental illness, leading to a lonely and disconnected adolescence and my own battle with alcoholism as an adult. With over 17 years in recovery, I intimately understand how stress, trauma, and loss can compound into feelings of helplessness and hopelessness. My personal path to recovery, combined with extensive clinical experience and the wisdom of invaluable mentors, forms the compassionate and effective foundation of my work today.Let's explore your path to healing and resilience together.

My approach to therapy

I work with teenagers and adults creating safe spaces where they can identify and overcome obstacles to healthy development, fulfilling relationships, and the attainment of personal and professional aspirations. I bring extensive experience assisting families navigating the daily challenges of trauma, grief, and anxiety. I work with men and gender expansive individuals to challenge detrimental societal expectations, empowering them to embrace their authentic selves and achieve their parenting and relationship goals.

My practice is dedicated to fostering healing and well-being. I believe true well-being comes from embracing the full spectrum of human emotions, free from societal pressures or personal conditioning that dictates how we "should" or "should not" feel. I work collaboratively with clients, recognizing and building upon their inherent strengths while offering supportive yet challenging reflections to deepen their self-understanding. I provide gentle guidance and supportive pushes as you reclaim wholeness. This transformative process, rooted in practical skills and compassionate self-exploration, offers remarkable rewards. My expertise includes Grief and Trauma Intervention, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychotherapy, and Mindfulness Practices.

What you can expect from me

My aim is to help clients cultivate self-awareness, inner joy, and peace. This involves fostering more meaningful relationships and achieving greater satisfaction in daily life.

The process begins by consciously connecting emotions, body, and thoughts, aligning actions with core values. Often, this journey starts with exploring the self to dismantle any barriers to well-being. We then examine relationships and roles, working to build empathy and communication skills. This empowers clients to be their best as partners, parents, caretakers, colleagues, and/or friends, improving existing relationships and discerning which connections truly serve them. Ultimately, this journey leads to a positive self-perception and more fulfilling relationships. My hope is that, through our work together, clients can bridge the gap between who they are and who they aspire to be.
