Great to meet you!

“Hi, I’m Brent — a therapist with more than 10 years of experience specializing in men’s mental health, trauma, and PTSD.

I primarily support adults, including veterans, active-duty military, law enforcement, firefighters, EMS, and other first responders who are navigating depression, anxiety, anger, relationship struggles, life transitions, or the lasting effects of trauma.

My approach is practical, strengths-based, and non-judgmental, tailored to the unique pressures that come with these roles and experiences. I’m trained and experienced in evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and polyvagal-informed techniques to help you regain control, process what’s happened, and move forward with more calm and confidence.

If you’re tired of just ‘getting by’ and are ready to feel like yourself again — or even better than before — I’d be honored to walk alongside you.”

My approach to therapy

“My approach is direct, practical, and focused on results — not endless talking about the past unless it’s helping you move forward today.

I believe most men do best with therapy that respects their strength, cuts through the noise, and gives them clear tools they can use right away. That’s why I lean heavily on evidence-based treatments proven to work with trauma and high-stress lifestyles: Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for stuck trauma stories, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for breaking unhelpful thought and behavior cycles, Solution-Focused techniques when you need fast progress, and polyvagal-informed skills to calm the nervous system and reduce anger, hypervigilance, or shutdown.

Everything I do is strengths-based and collaborative. We identify what’s already working in your life, build on it, and target the patterns that are holding you back. No judgment, no pressure to “open up” before you’re ready — just steady, respectful work toward feeling more in control, sleeping better, and showing up as the man, partner, father, or leader you want to be.”

What you can expect from me

“In our first session, you’re in the driver’s seat.

We’ll start with the basics: what’s bringing you in right now, what you want to be different, and how soon you want to see that change. I’ll ask straightforward questions to understand your situation — no pressure to overshare or dig into anything before you’re ready.

You’ll tell me what you’ve already tried, what’s worked (even a little), and what hasn’t. I’ll explain how I work, what the evidence-based tools look like in action, and we’ll set a clear plan for the next few sessions so you leave knowing exactly where we’re headed.

Bottom line: one focused session of honest conversation, zero judgment, and a practical roadmap forward.”
