Great to meet you!

I have been a licensed psychologist in California for the past 27 years. I have an eclectic, client-centered approach to psychotherapy. I work collaboratively with clients to determine the best therapeutic approach/strategy to address their current challenges. The therapeutic modality or modalities that I use are dependent upon each individual client's needs and include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Insight Oriented Therapy, Family Systems, Object Relations, and Trauma Focused CBT. I typically work with adult men and women who are experiencing work-related, relationship-related, or general life-stress-related challenges that have resulted in one experiencing symptoms of anxiety or depression. My communication style is open, honest, and direct. My primary therapeutic goal is first-and-foremost to address the issue or issues that a patient or couple identifies as what prompted the individual or couple to seek out therapy. However, my overall therapeutic goal is to help an individual or a couple achieve a sense of resiliency, meaning that one will, following completing therapy with me, have the internal skill set to deal with, in a positive manner, any challenges that life will present them with in the future (i.e., friendship or familial relationship challenges, dealing with a sadistic supervisor, the end of a romantic relationship, professional or personal disappointments, etc.).

My approach to therapy

What you can expect from me

I believe that a therapeutic relationship must be collaborative. Thus, during the intake session I will conduct a thorough clinical interview and will assess the issues that prompted the client to present for therapy. Thereafter, he/she and I will collaboratively develop a treatment plan that we both feel will result in the client being able to resolve his/her current issues or issues and will provide the client with the strength, confidence, and resiliency to deal with similar issues independently in the future.
