Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm glad you found your way here. I work with adults navigating depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, anger and impulse concerns, and alcohol or substance use. I also support people through grief, trauma and PTSD, stress that has taken over, and relationship struggles. Many of the people I see are tired of holding it all together alone.

Outside the office, I'm usually outside. I fish, camp, and travel whenever I can. At home you'll find me playing guitar or standing over the grill, which is where I do most of my own thinking. I mention this because I want you to see me as a real person who understands that life gets complicated.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. I draw from CBT to help you notice the thought patterns driving how you feel, and Trauma Focused CBT when past experiences still shape the present. I use Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy to build space between a feeling and a reaction, and Interpersonal Psychotherapy when relationships are at the center of the hurt. I also lean on strength-based work and positive psychology, because you already have resilience worth building on.

We'll spend time understanding what's happening and why, and we'll build tools you can use between sessions. You set the pace.

What you can expect from me

The first session is mostly a conversation. I'll ask what brought you in, what's been hardest lately, and what you hope feels different a few months from now. You don't need to prepare anything or have the right words ready. If you're nervous or unsure where to start, say so and we'll start there. If something feels too soon to discuss, that's okay too.

By the end of the hour, you'll have a sense of how I work and we'll talk through what a plan could look like. My hope is that you leave a little lighter than when you walked in.
