Great to meet you!

Asking for help isn't always easy or comfortable. I'm glad you are here, and focused on taking better care of yourself and your needs. I'm a native New Yorker, and lived in Brooklyn until college. I earned my BA in Psychology from Columbia in 1992, and my PhD from Fordham in 2004. I've been a licensed clinical psychologist since 2005, and was board certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology in 2017. I've wanted to be a psychologist since I was 21 years old, and I'm fortunate that it happened for me. I greatly appreciate the work I do and each unique patient I've treated during my career.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I've have many years of professional and life experience, and envision psychotherapy as a private and confidential relationship based on trust, a safe space where we connect and you can be heard, understood, accepted and valued. I've been formally trained in several different therapeutic models, including psychodynamic, interpersonal, and cognitive-behavioral modalities. I adopt a integrative, patient-centered clinical approach, which allows for creativity, flexibility, and variety in how we approach your therapeutic needs. I hope our work together can ease your pain, enhance your resiliency and self-awareness, and increase your overall satisfaction with yourself and the realities of life and the human experience.

What you can expect from our first session

I strive to create a warm, non-judgmental therapeutic environment that encourages self-disclosure, self-reflection, and self-love. My goals for us reflect your goals for yourself. I will listen to you with my full attention, and trust that our work together can help you overcome obstacles and shift you towards growth, recovery, healing, and wellness.
