Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Brian Kaufman, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with extensive experience helping individuals navigate life's challenges. Throughout my career, I've worked with people facing a wide range of mental health concerns, from anxiety and depression to more complex mental health conditions. I believe everyone deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion, regardless of what they're going through. I particularly enjoy working with men navigating relationship difficulties, emotional challenges, and the pressures of everyday life. My approach is straightforward, supportive, and grounded in the belief that everyone has strengths they can build on, even when life feels overwhelming. I want to help you better understand what's holding you back, recognize what you're capable of, and make meaningful changes that improve your life.

My approach to therapy

My approach is direct, supportive, and focused on understanding what's bringing you to therapy. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), reality therapy, and other therapeutic approaches to help you recognize patterns in your thoughts and behaviors, understand how they affect your life, and develop practical ways to move forward. I don't believe therapy should be about simply telling you what you want to hear. I'll listen, ask questions, offer honest feedback, and challenge you when I believe it can help you grow. Together, we'll identify what's within your control and focus on changes that can make a meaningful difference in your everyday life.

What you can expect from me

You can expect someone who will be in your corner, take your concerns seriously, and be honest with you, even when it's not always easy to hear. I'll take the time to understand what you're going through and tailor our work to your individual needs and goals. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I'll encourage you to put what we discuss into practice outside of our sessions. I want you to leave with more than just a better understanding of your challenges. I want you to have the confidence, perspective, and practical tools to make changes in your life. Taking that first step isn't always easy, and I'll be there to support you along the way.
