Brian McCormick

Hi, I'm Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated to working with and providing quality psychotherapeutic services to individual adults and couples. Specialties include cognitive behavioral therapy, insight oriented, and solution focused therapy. Clinical experience with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, substance abuse disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, personality disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, gender dysphoria, eating disorders, as well as sexual dysfunctions for individuals and couples. I am currently being supervised by a specialist to treat eating disorders as well as a AASECT certified therapist to provide sex therapy to individuals and couples while working towards my AASECT certification.

I make it clear to all my clients that I am in no way here to judge but to provide the best care possible. I work to meet my client where they are at and from a place of compassion, understanding, and encouragement. I do my best in working to begin building trust and rapport within the first session. I also work to help my clients leave session with the understanding that we are now a team.

A very important thing to know about my process is that I do not leave my first session with a new client without setting goals, even if it is only one. This could be many different things such as behaviors they would like to address, improving interpersonal skills, and/or processing and working through previous or current experiences. I find building a toolbox of skills and tools is important and necessary for everyone.
